Ramban, October 10, 2025 – A dynamic Orientation-cum-Training Programme was held yesterday in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, to empower Business Help Desk (BHD) members and YUVA DOOTs under the ambitious Mission #YUVA. Hosted at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the event aimed to equip participants with the tools and knowledge to drive youth entrepreneurship in this aspirational district.The programme, attended by over 60 participants, including YUVA DOOTs—youth ambassadors for grassroots outreach—and Small Business Development Unit (SBDU) representatives, was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-ul-Haq, alongside senior officials from the Employment Department and Jammu Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute .
Empowering Grassroots Change
The training focused on Mission #YUVA’s goal of fostering entrepreneurship among unemployed youth aged 18-35. Key sessions covered:
- Role Clarity: Understanding the responsibilities of BHDs and YUVA DOOTs in guiding youth toward self-employment through business registrations and mentorship.
- Digital Empowerment: Practical training on the Mission #YUVA Mobile App for conducting surveys, preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and tracking progress.
- Skill and Financial Support: Insights into linking youth with schemes like PMEGP, providing access to capital, subsidies, and skill development.
- Outreach Strategies: Techniques for effective Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns and career counseling at the panchayat level.
Participants engaged in interactive workshops, addressing challenges like limited financial access in remote areas such as Gool and Banihal. “This training has given us a clear roadmap to support Ramban’s youth in starting their own ventures,” said a YUVA DOOT from Batote.
Strengthening Ramban’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
The event builds on recent efforts, including the selection of BHD and SBDU members on October 7, 2025. With over 1,000 potential entrepreneurs already identified in Ramban through Mission #YUVA surveys, the district is poised to become a hub for startups in sectors like agriculture, tourism, and handicrafts.Deputy Commissioner Baseer-ul-Haq emphasised, “Our YUVA DOOTs and BHDs are key to transforming Ramban into a vibrant entrepreneurial landscape. This programme equips them to inspire and support the next generation of innovators.”Next StepsFollowing the training, YUVA DOOTs will conduct door-to-door campaigns to promote Mission #YUVA, assisting youth with registrations and connecting them to resources. The district targets integrating 600 new beneficiaries into entrepreneurship and skill programs by January 2026, aligning with the national goal of creating 10 lakh entrepreneurs in five years.
