Srinagar, May 12,2026- Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated the National Youth Festival ‘Aarohan 2026’ in Srinagar and urged young people to rise above limitations, embrace innovation, and contribute towards building a developed India by 2047.
Addressing a large gathering of youth, students, innovators, and officials, the Lieutenant Governor said that history has never been created by those who waited for permission to become extraordinary.
“History was never made by those who waited for permission to be extraordinary. India needs youth who are ready to create their own paths and shape the future with courage, innovation, and determination,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He described the National Youth Festival as a platform that reflects a new vision of “Rise, Shine and Conquer” for the younger generation and said the time for youth leadership has arrived.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that through programmes like the ‘Young Leaders Dialogue’, Hackathon, and cultural events, the foundation is being laid for the next chapter of India’s growth and progress.
He stressed that governance cannot thrive without active youth participation and emphasized the importance of involving young minds in decision-making and nation-building across various sectors.
“Every young boy and girl possesses immense talent. They only need opportunities and confidence in themselves. Innovation and invention emerge when youth dare to explore uncharted paths,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also underlined the role of culture, arts, music, literature, sports, and theatre in shaping identity and empowering youth. He urged students to embrace their uniqueness rather than imitate others.
“The world does not need copies. It needs original thinkers and youth with unique personalities who can inspire generations to come,” he added.
Referring to the fight against social challenges, the Lieutenant Governor said true victory lies in defeating despair, inequality, and fear through knowledge, compassion, and determination.
Youth leaders from different parts of the country, senior officials, educationists, and students participated in the event held in Srinagar.
