‘My Town, My Pride’ in Budgam making the govt schemes available to people online

The aim of the programme, My Town, My Pride is to make the government schemes available to the people online. Also, to spread awareness of the schemes that can benefit the people of Budgam in Jammu & Kashmir, said the authorities. Earlier, people used to get harassed visiting the offices continuously for 10-15 days or a month to get their work done. Now, those people can avail the government services on their mobiles or laptops computers sitting at home. ‘My Town, My Pride’ programme was held at a popular school in Budgam. Several communities participated in it. The main motive was the development of the town Budgam. There were several exhibitions at the programme. This school exhibited antique artefacts of Kashmir giving a glimpse of the Kashmiri culture. These were the things that were used in the olden age. The children said that through the programme, ‘My Town, My Pride’, they have learnt that cleanliness must be everyone’s goal. It is not that we leave the cleaning to the municipal committee. We ourselves should be responsible for keeping the region clean. There were different stalls put up by various departments. ‘My Town, My Pride’ programme is beneficial for the youth of Budgam as they get awareness about self employment schemes and sport facilities. During this programme, a lot of children connected with the self employment schemes. They have taken forms and done the registration. Golden Cards have been distributed. Water testing reports and soil testing reports have been given, said the programme representatives. We have tried to spread awareness about the success stories of people through the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). How the youth by availing loan facility have started their self employment venture to earn their livelihood. The others too should come forward and join the role models to enjoy the benefits of these policies and schemes to rise in life.
