Mission Vatsalya organises Capacity Building Programme at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 14: The District Protection Unit, Mission Vatsalya Bandipora today organized Training cum Capacity Building programme on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, POCSO Act 2012, Adoption Regulations, and child rights at HSS Kaloosa Bandipora.
The program presided over by Chairman District Development Council Ab. Gani Bhat was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC Kousar Shafeeq, DDC Arin Gh. Mohi Ud Din, DDC Hajin Gh. Mustafa, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Members from CWC, JJB and DCPU officials, General Secretary J&K Specially-abled Persons Welfare Society, Nazir Ahmad, representatives from DLSA, NGO, Civil Society Members, Traders, Transporters, Asha Workers and Anganwadi workers.
The programme was conducted under the overall supervision of District Child Protection Officer Bandipora, Mir Hidaytullah and facilitated by Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Aasima Hassan.
During the program, various speakers highlighted the crucial role and responsibilities of stakeholders in ensuring the effective implementation of these Acts and encouraged active participation.
Rasik Ramzan delivered the introductory speech on the structure of Mission Vatsalya besides explaining the importance of the programme and gave a detailed description of the topic and its working mechanism at the district level.
Detailed discussions were held on topics such as the rescue and rehabilitation operations for vulnerable child labourers, and the process of age determination.
The facilitators employed case studies, group work and role playing to make the program engaging and enriching for the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Sofi Gowhar Mehmood, Protection Officer NIC highlighted working of DPU- Mission Vatsalya and role of various line Departments.
On the occasion, Chief Functionary HWVO (NGO) Feroz Ahmad as Resource person highlighted Family Based Alternative Care.
The certificates of participation were also distributed to acknowledge the active involvement of the participants in the programme.
