Udhampur, May 23, 2025- Nestled in the scenic heart of Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir, the Mantalai International Yoga Centre has been revitalised as a world-class hub for holistic wellness, breathing new life into the legacy of Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari. Abandoned for nearly three decades under the Congress-led government, the centre has been transformed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s progressive vision into a state-of-the-art facility promoting yoga, Ayurveda, and spiritual tourism.
Originally established by Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari, a renowned yoga guru, the centre was neglected until its revival began in 2019, spearheaded by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. Today, it offers a transformative experience, blending ancient practices with modern amenities to attract domestic and international visitors. The project aligns with PM Modi’s global advocacy for yoga, exemplified by the establishment of International Yoga Day in 2014, and aims to position Jammu & Kashmir as a premier destination for wellness and cultural heritage.
The Mantalai International Yoga Centre is set to boost tourism in the region, enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities while showcasing India’s rich tradition of holistic health. As Dr. Jitendra Singh noted on X, the centre is more than a destination—it’s a beacon of transformation in the heart of Udhampur.
