Kashmir Ahead

LG Manoj Sinha revives Nasha-Mukt J&K campaign in Reasi

Reasi, April 24,2026 Manoj Sinha on Friday reignited the call for a ‘Nasha-Mukt J&K’ campaign in Reasi, urging people to join a broad-based movement to eliminate drug abuse from the Union Territory.

Addressing a gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that over the past 12 days, a strong collective force has emerged across Jammu & Kashmir against the menace of drugs. He said the administration and public are resolutely committed to making the region completely drug-free.

Highlighting intensified enforcement efforts, LG Sinha stated that in the Jammu division, between April 11 and April 22, a large number of cases were registered and several drug smugglers were arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and allied agencies.

During the crackdown, narcotics worth nearly ₹3 crore were seized. Additionally, properties valued at around ₹1 crore, including both movable and immovable assets, were attached under relevant laws. Authorities also cancelled 187 driving licences and four vehicle registrations as part of strict action against those involved in drug-related activities.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that the fight against drugs cannot be won by enforcement alone and requires active participation from all sections of society, including youth, civil society groups, and educational institutions.

The ‘Nasha-Mukt J&K’ initiative aligns with the national campaign Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, focusing on awareness, rehabilitation, and strict legal action to curb the spread of narcotics.

LG Sinha called upon citizens to remain vigilant and support the administration in its mission to build a safe, healthy, and drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.
