Jammu, March 29,2026-Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, said that the Jammu Marathon reflects the profound transformation the Union Territory has undergone since 2019, with peace, prosperity and improved conditions enabling the hosting of world-class events.
He said the successful आयोजन marks a historic milestone, as Jammu & Kashmir finally claims its rightful place on the global stage after decades.
The Lieutenant Governor, while felicitating the winners of the marathon, said that Jammu has firmly established itself on the global running map and is emerging as a key destination for sports tourism.
He emphasized that such large-scale events will significantly boost tourism in the region, benefiting trade, businesses and the local economy, while ushering in an era of comprehensive development.
Highlighting the broader impact, he noted that improved infrastructure, governance and security have created an enabling environment for national and international events in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the participants and organizers for the successful conduct of the marathon and encouraged youth to actively engage in sports, promoting fitness and unity.
