Jammu, March 28, 2026-Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, graced the ‘Big Impact Awards J&K 2026’ held in Jammu, where he emphasized innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth as key drivers of the Union Territory’s progress.
Addressing entrepreneurs and distinguished personalities from diverse sectors, the Lieutenant Governor urged them to channel their efforts towards strengthening Jammu & Kashmir’s economic and social landscape, making it more resilient and humane.
India Emerging as Innovation Powerhouse
Highlighting India’s transformation under Narendra Modi, the Lieutenant Governor said that sweeping reforms have created an ecosystem where the country is rapidly evolving from a consumer-driven economy to a creator-led innovation hub.
He stated that India today stands among the world’s most dynamic forces shaping the global economy, driven by innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement.
Entrepreneurship & Reforms Driving Change
The Lieutenant Governor underlined that the revolutionary changes witnessed in the industrial and business ecosystem are not coincidental but are the result of bold reforms and the relentless dedication of entrepreneurs.
He praised the entrepreneurial spirit of Jammu & Kashmir, noting that local innovators have successfully turned crises into opportunities, expanded production capacities, and diversified markets despite challenges like raw material constraints.
“True entrepreneurship lies in converting crises into opportunities,” he said, commending the resilience of the region’s business community.
Education Sector Transformation Post-NEP & COVID
Speaking on the education sector, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the transformative impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the COVID-19 pandemic.
He noted that while the pandemic disrupted traditional learning systems, it also triggered a rapid digital shift. Stakeholders collaborated to develop online platforms, train educators, and extend virtual learning tools even to remote villages.
This integration of technology, research, and policy-driven innovation, he said, is paving the way for India to emerge as a global knowledge economy.
Call for Nation-Building & Social Responsibility
Emphasizing that technology is no longer just a support system but a force that constantly challenges society, the Lieutenant Governor called for collective efforts towards nation-building with determination and purpose.
He also applauded entrepreneurs who have gone beyond business to set social examples, especially in shaping human potential through education and innovation.

The Lieutenant Governor proposed the inclusion of the farming community in future editions of the awards to recognize their crucial contribution to Jammu & Kashmir’s economy.
