Srinagar, August 11, 2025: In a vibrant prelude to Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led thousands in a grand Tiranga Yatra around the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar on Monday. The event, a cornerstone of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, showcased the region’s fervent patriotism and unity as participants from diverse backgrounds joined the walkathon from the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) to the Botanical Garden.Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, LG Sinha passionately declared, “Tiranga is my Dharma. Tiranga is my strength.
Tiranga is my heartbeat.” He emphasized that serving the nation is the greatest honor, stating, “For the sake of duty, may we again and again take birth on this holy land. Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” The rally saw Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other dignitaries, including Justice N. Kotiswar Singh and DGP Dilbagh Singh, participating in parallel events, reinforcing the message of a united and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.The Tiranga Yatra, meticulously planned under LG Sinha’s oversight during a high-level meeting on August 9, highlighted the region’s transformation post the 2019 abrogation of Article 370.
“The massive participation is a testament to a changed Kashmir, where the Tricolor flies high across all 20 districts, from Pulwama to Poonch,” Sinha noted, countering past claims that the Valley would not embrace the national flag. The event also featured the Panch Pran pledge, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging citizens to contribute to a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).The rally concluded with the release of a monograph honoring J&K’s martyrs and the launch of a Tiranga signature campaign, deepening the emotional connect with the national flag. With increased tourism and a peaceful environment, the event underscored Jammu and Kashmir’s journey toward normalcy and development, making it a powerful symbol of national pride.
