Jammu, December 18,2025:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha chaired the UT-level Security Conference in Jammu today, focusing on a comprehensive government approach to counter-terrorism, law enforcement coordination, and national security. The conference, modeled on the DGPs/IGPs conference, aligns with the central government’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions’, under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.
Addressing the participants, the LG emphasized the importance of coordinated action against terrorists, their enablers, and ideologues, aiming to eliminate safe havens and dismantle terrorist ecosystems. “The security gains since 2019 must be defended, and every terrorist and supporter operating in valleys, forests, hills, or villages must be neutralized,” he stated.
Highlighting the progress over the past six years, the Lieutenant Governor noted that the strengthened security grid, through collaboration between J&K Police, Army, Intelligence agencies, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), has led to a significant decline in terrorist activities, number of active terrorists, and recruitment. He underscored that armed terrorists, over-ground workers (OGWs), and elements intimidating citizens must be dealt with firmly, ensuring a heavy price for anti-national actions.
The conference also focused on addressing evolving security threats and the need to shift from reactive to proactive strategies. The LG stressed leveraging modern technology, including AI, to counter challenges such as terror financing, radicalisation, narco-terrorism, and other emerging threats.
The one-day UT-level security conference was attended by senior officials from J&K Police, intelligence agencies, civil administration, and CAPFs, fostering dialogue on building a next-generation security grid for Jammu and Kashmir.
