Kupwara, September 3, 2025 – In a bid to promote a drug-free society and engage youth in healthy activities, Kupwara Police inaugurated a Men’s Volleyball Tournament at the District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara as part of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan 2025.
The event, which commenced on August 31, features 12 competing teams vying for the grand finale trophy, scheduled for September 2.The tournament was officially kicked off by DySP DAR Kupwara, Gulzar Rashid, in the presence of other police officers and participants.
Addressing the gathering, DySP Rashid emphasised the role of sports in steering youth away from drugs, stating, “Sports play a pivotal role in steering the youth away from drugs and fostering a healthy, drug-free society.”
He highlighted how such initiatives under the national Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan aim to build resilience against substance abuse through physical fitness and community engagement.The opening match saw Drugmullah defeating Hyhama with a score of 2-0, setting an energetic tone for the competition.
