Kulgam bridge to play a beneficial role in South Kashmir connecting nearby villages and districts

For the last 18 months work has been going on in Kulgam by the R&D Department, Kashmir with the help of District Administration Kulgam, said the authorities. Nearly 90 per cent of the bridge structure is complete. Small work is remaining like river training and protection works. These will take about a month’s time. But the superstructure is complete. The Kulgam bridge will be beneficial to the whole of South Kashmir. It will connect the districts of Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam and via the national highway to the whole of India. The nearby villages with a population of 200- 2.50 lakh used to get disconnected because of rainfall and floods. This bridge will now keep them connected.
