Srinagar, July 27,2026- Schools across Kashmir reopened on Monday after the conclusion of the 21-day summer vacation, bringing back the familiar buzz of morning assemblies, classrooms, and playgrounds as thousands of students resumed their academic activities across the Valley.
Government and private educational institutions witnessed a cheerful atmosphere as students, dressed in fresh uniforms and carrying school bags, returned to classrooms after the extended break. Teachers welcomed the children and resumed regular academic schedules, while many schools also organised orientation sessions, interactive activities, and morning assemblies to help students ease back into the learning environment.
The summer vacation had been announced due to soaring temperatures across Kashmir, with authorities aiming to safeguard the health and well-being of students during the intense heatwave. As weather conditions improved, schools resumed normal functioning, allowing the academic calendar to continue without further disruption.
Parents expressed satisfaction over the reopening, stating that children were eager to reconnect with classmates and teachers after spending three weeks at home. Many students also participated in educational exhibitions, creative projects, and extracurricular activities organised on the first day to make their return more engaging.
School administrations have urged students to maintain discipline, attend classes regularly, and focus on completing the academic syllabus. Teachers emphasised the importance of revising lessons covered before the vacation and encouraged students to actively participate in classroom learning.
With schools reopening across the Valley, educational institutions are expected to intensify academic activities to ensure timely completion of the curriculum ahead of upcoming examinations.
