Srinagar December 8,2025: The Mechanical Engineering Department Kashmir carried out a comprehensive winter preparedness mock drill to ensure seamless snow clearance operations across the Kashmir division. The exercise was conducted on the directions of Chief Engineer Bodh Raj, who stressed the importance of readiness as the region moves into peak winter.
During the drill, officials reviewed the readiness of snow-clearing machinery, including high-capacity snow cutters, loaders, and specialized winter equipment deployed across various districts. The department also inspected communication networks and emergency response systems to ensure quick coordination during heavy snowfall.
The mock drill aimed to minimise disruptions during winter by strengthening operational efficiency, improving response times, and ensuring that critical roads, healthcare routes, and essential service corridors remain accessible throughout the season.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining uninterrupted mobility and providing timely assistance to residents during snowfall.
