Kashmir Ahead

Kashmir breaks the ice, India leads on the world stage

Kashmir,December 14,2025-Kashmir is set to make history in global winter sports as Mir Muddasir prepares to represent India as the sole Indian delegate at the World SnowShoe Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Wisconsin, USA.

From the snow-laden mountains of Kashmir to one of the most prestigious international winter sports platforms, Mir Muddasir’s journey reflects India’s growing leadership in niche global sporting disciplines.

Currently serving as the President of the SnowShoe Federation of India and the Acting President of the World SnowShoe Federation (WSSF), Mir Muddasir will also preside over the WSSF Congress during the championship. He is widely expected to be elected President of the World SnowShoe Federation, a development that would mark a historic first for India in international winter sports governance.

Mir Muddasir’s rise is rooted in experience and perseverance. Having earlier represented India at the Winter Olympics in 2010, he has since transitioned from athlete to administrator, playing a pivotal role in shaping policy, development, and global collaboration in winter sports.

This moment goes beyond personal achievement. It signifies Kashmir’s emergence as a cradle of winter sports talent and India’s evolution from participation to leadership on the world stage.

As the World SnowShoe Championship 2025 unfolds, Mir Muddasir’s presence symbolizes not just competition, but command—placing India firmly at the center of international winter sports discourse.
