Kishtwar, June 2- The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute organised an awareness programme in Kishtwar to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment among women.
The programme witnessed participation of more than 30 women, who were sensitised about various opportunities in entrepreneurship and skill-based livelihood generation.
Officials briefed the participants on Central and Union Territory-level schemes, including initiatives under Mission YUVA, JKEDI programmes, and other self-employment support schemes aimed at fostering economic empowerment.
The session focused on guiding women towards becoming self-reliant by encouraging them to explore business opportunities, start small enterprises, and access institutional support available under government schemes.
Speakers highlighted the importance of women-led entrepreneurship in strengthening rural economies and promoting inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Participants were also informed about training support, financial assistance, and mentorship opportunities available through JKEDI and allied government initiatives.
The programme concluded with an interactive session where women raised queries regarding registration, funding, and business setup processes.
