Kashmir, December 18,2025:The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) has successfully concluded the fourth batch of Management Development Programmes (MDPs) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme across 13 districts of the Union Territory.
The RAMP scheme is funded by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, and is being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir by the Industries and Commerce Department.
The six-day intensive MDPs, conducted from December 12, 2025, were organised simultaneously in Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar, Jammu, Kathua, Reasi and Udhampur. A total of 258 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs successfully completed the 30-hour structured training programme, which included expert-led sessions and field exposure visits.
A key highlight of the programme was the participation of 243 women entrepreneurs, reflecting a major step towards promoting gender inclusivity and women-led enterprises in Jammu and Kashmir’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The programmes were conducted by JKEDI’s respective District Centres under the overall supervision of the Director, JKEDI.
The MDPs were aimed at strengthening managerial, financial and strategic capabilities of participants to help them scale up their businesses, enhance competitiveness and develop sustainable business models. The initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the RAMP programme, which focuses on strengthening and modernising the MSME ecosystem across India.
The well-structured curriculum, designed by subject matter experts, covered crucial areas such as business planning, marketing strategies, use of digital tools, financial literacy, statutory compliance, innovation and leadership development. Participants also benefited from mentorship sessions, case studies, interactive discussions and hands-on workshops, providing practical insights into real-world business challenges.
Sector-specific sessions were also organised, with experts from the District Industries Centres (DICs) and the Labour and Employment Department sharing domain-specific guidance. Additionally, field visits to successful enterprises were arranged to offer participants firsthand exposure to best operational practices.
The programmes were closely monitored by designated Range and Reviewing Officers, who interacted with trainees to assess training quality and gather feedback, ensuring effective implementation and meaningful outcomes.
The successful completion of the MDPs in 13 districts underscores JKEDI’s continued commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship, strengthening MSMEs and building local capacity to drive inclusive economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
