Kashmir,December 3,2025-In a proud milestone for sustainable tourism, J&K Tourism has been honored with the prestigious Green Globe Guardian Award for its dedication to eco-friendly and sustainable travel practices. The accolade was presented at the recent India International Travel Mart (IITM) Pune 2025, which was held from November 27–29 at the Deccan College Grounds, Pune.

The award recognises J&K Tourism’s consistent efforts to integrate environmental responsibility into its tourism framework. During the exhibition, the delegation highlighted the Union Territory’s pristine natural landscapes, serene valleys, heritage-rich sites and diverse offerings — from adventure and pilgrimage tourism to leisure and heritage tourism — positioning Jammu & Kashmir as a four-season destination committed to sustainability.

Representatives from J&K Tourism — including top officers from the tourism and development authorities — interacted with travel operators, media representatives and visitors from across India and abroad. Their presentation underscored the region’s commitment to eco-conservation, improved infrastructure and responsible tourism practices, while inviting travellers to experience the beauty of Jammu & Kashmir with minimal ecological footprint.

This recognition by Green Globe — one of the world’s leading sustainable tourism standards organisations, which evaluates members across 44 core criteria and hundreds of indicators — affirms that J&K Tourism meets international benchmarks for environmentally conscious travel and tourism management.

With this award, J&K Tourism also sends a strong message that tourism development and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand — preserving natural beauty, supporting local communities, and promoting Jammu & Kashmir as a global-class, sustainable destination.
