Pahalgam, July 4,2026- Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of pilgrims, the Jammu & Kashmir Police Mountain Rescue Team extended timely assistance to a 65-year-old woman pilgrim who required help while undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 on the Pahalgam Axis.
The elderly devotee experienced difficulty while trekking through the challenging mountainous terrain. Responding swiftly, the trained Mountain Rescue Team reached the spot, provided immediate assistance, and safely escorted her along the route, ensuring she received the necessary care and support to continue her pilgrimage.
The rescue highlights the preparedness and dedication of the J&K Police personnel deployed across the Amarnath Yatra routes. Specialised Mountain Rescue Teams remain stationed at strategic locations along the Pahalgam and Baltal axes to assist pilgrims facing medical emergencies, exhaustion, or other difficulties during the high-altitude trek.
Pilgrims have lauded the professionalism and humanitarian approach of the rescue teams, whose prompt response has become an essential part of the extensive security and disaster management arrangements made for the annual pilgrimage.
