J&K | LG Stresses Equal Opportunities on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

J&K | LG Stresses Equal Opportunities on International Day of Persons with Disabilities On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities we should strive to overcome all the obstacles and challenges of their life, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. I feel immense pride in remembering those people who have overcome all the obstacles and challenges of life and have achieved outstanding results in life. It is true that today is an opportunity to reflect and reaffirm our collective efforts to build an inclusive society. Today we all need to take a pledge that we all will work together with dedication to provide every disabled person of the society equal opportunities and a suitable environment to develop their full potential. Today I can say that in two-and-a-half years an effort is being made in Jammu and Kashmir also so that our brothers and sisters can join the mainstream. The system of equality should be maintained for them also. An attempt has been made to satiate the Accessible India Campaign and run it like a mass movement, LG said. Be it government, private building, railway station, airport, school or college, efforts have been made to create such infrastructure that it becomes accessible to the disabled. We should always keep this thing in mind that if one part of the society is rich and the other part is suffering from scarcity then the society can never be alive. Therefore, my request would be to use all the resources for the development of the society and I believe that the participation of every citizen will help in freeing the underprivileged class from the bondage of poverty, said the Lt Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha.
