J&K LG Manoj Sinha pays tributes to General Zorawar Singh, emphasizes vision for public welfare

Jammu, December 12 – Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to General Zorawar Singh, India’s greatest military strategist, on his Martyrdom Day. The commemorative event, organized by the General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, saw the LG honour the memory of the brave warrior and his invaluable contributions to the expansion of the Dogra Empire.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor spoke about General Zorawar Singh’s remarkable military campaigns in Ladakh, Baltistan, and Tibet, emphasizing his profound impact on the region’s history. He lauded the General’s leadership, noting, “The life and legacy of great personalities like General Zorawar Singh inspire us to unite for an equitable path of growth. His vision and values continue to guide us in working for those sections of society who have been left behind.”

The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the government’s commitment to honouring the contributions of such national heroes under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, while noting the significant transformation in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years.

Reaffirming the government’s focus on public welfare, LG Sinha said, “Public welfare is my ‘Dharma’ and ‘Kartavya.’ Ensuring equality and social justice for all is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society without discrimination.”

He further outlined the acceleration of infrastructure development in Jammu and Kashmir over the last five years, emphasizing that hundreds of long-stalled projects were fast-tracked to deliver tangible results. “The ideals of democracy and the values enshrined in our Constitution have become integral to the governance process,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.

The LG also praised the efforts of the General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust for its work in educating the youth about the General’s inspiring legacy. “I urge the youth to serve society selflessly and contribute to nation-building. Together, we will realize the vision of a Developed India,” he added.
