On the auspicious occasion of Shravan Shukla Panchami, Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha performed the Pujan of Shri Amarnathji Chhari Mubarak at Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhada in Srinagar. This sacred ritual, marking a significant moment before the culmination of the annual pilgrimage, was conducted in the esteemed presence of Deependra Giri, Mahant Chhari Mubarak Shri Amarnathji. During the ceremony, the LG sought the divine blessings of Lord Shiva, praying earnestly for the peace, progress, and well-being of all. The Chhari-Pujan, an integral part of the Amarnath Yatra, prepares the holy mace for its traditional journey to the Shri Amarnathji cave shrine, symbolizing the culmination of the pilgrimage. The event was attended by key officials including Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, CEO of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board; Vidhi Kumar Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; and other senior officers, reflecting the collaborative effort in ensuring the smooth conduct of the Yatra. On the same day, a fresh batch of over 390 pilgrims embarked on their journey to the Amarnath cave shrine from Jammu. This 42nd batch, consisting of 398 pilgrims, departed at 3:26 am in a convoy of 14 vehicles, escorted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police. These pilgrims opted for the shorter but steeper 14-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district, a testament to their devotion and commitment to the pilgrimage. As of now, over five lakh pilgrims have offered their obeisance at the shrine this year. The Amarnath Yatra, which began on June 29, is scheduled to conclude on August 19, marking a period of profound spiritual significance for countless devotees who undertake this sacred journey.
