Srinagar, January 20,2026-Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday inaugurated the newly revamped Amira Kadal bridge in Srinagar, marking another milestone in the city’s urban infrastructure upgrade and heritage revitalisation efforts.
The renovated bridge, a vital link in the heart of Srinagar, has been upgraded with improved structural strength, pedestrian-friendly features, enhanced lighting, and aesthetic elements that blend modern design with the city’s historic character. The project aims to ease traffic movement while ensuring safety and convenience for commuters and pedestrians.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Manoj Sinha said the revamp of Amira Kadal reflects the administration’s commitment to modernising urban infrastructure while preserving Srinagar’s cultural and historical identity. He emphasized that quality infrastructure plays a crucial role in improving public services and boosting economic activity.
The Lieutenant Governor noted that several bridges, roads, and public spaces across Srinagar are being upgraded to meet future needs and enhance the overall urban experience. He said such projects are part of the broader vision of sustainable development and improved quality of life for citizens.
Local residents and traders welcomed the inauguration, terming the upgraded Amira Kadal a much-needed improvement that will facilitate smoother connectivity in one of the busiest areas of the city.
