J&K LG Manoj Sinha attends 8th Purvanchal Festival ‘Maati’ in Delhi, celebrates region’s cultural legacy

Jammu, March 29, 2025: Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the 8th edition of the Purvanchal Festival “Maati” in Delhi . In his address, he congratulated the Maati Trust for providing a platform to showcase the culture, arts, and ideas of Purvanchal.

LG Manoj Sinha highlighted that Purvanchal has enriched India’s diverse culture and preserved its traditional values. He emphasised the region’s deep roots in spiritual ethos, noting how its linguistic diversity and literature have influenced global culture for thousands of years. “Purvanchal’s contributions have shaped perspectives, fostered unity in diversity, and filled cultural voids,” he said.

He paid homage to freedom fighters, writers, artists, and industrialists from Purvanchal, recognizing their role in building a modern India and leaving a legacy for future generations. LG Sinha urged the Maati Trust to preserve this heritage and connect the youth with the region’s linguistic richness and cultural traditions, which inspire peace and emotional bonding.

The LG also praised the Maati Trust for engaging 51,000 educational institutions to support scholarships, jobs, startups, entrepreneurship, and a proposed cultural centre. He felicitated recipients of the ‘Maati Samman’ award, honoring achievers from Purvanchal.
