Srinagar, September 04, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha extended heartfelt congratulations to the universities and educational institutions of Jammu and Kashmir for their outstanding achievements in the NIRF-2025 rankings, announced recently. In a post on X at 10:12 PM IST, the Lt Governor praised the institutions for their contributions to establishing world-class teaching and research ecosystems in the Union Territory.The University of Kashmir secured the 34th position and the University of Jammu the 51st position in the Universities category at the national level. In the State Public Universities category, the University of Kashmir ranked 8th, while the University of Jammu stood at 21st.
In the Agriculture & Allied Sectors category, SKUAST-Kashmir achieved a remarkable 7th rank, and SKUAST-Jammu secured the 23rd position.Further, IIT Jammu and NIT Srinagar earned places among the top 100 institutes in the Engineering category, while IIM Jammu was recognized in the Management category. SMVDU distinguished itself by ranking in the top 25 for Architecture.The Lt Governor described these accomplishments as a testament to the transformative efforts in elevating J&K’s academic landscape, reinforcing its position as a hub for higher education and innovation.
