J&K: Kupwara Entrepreneur Establishes District’s First Trout Feed Mill, Boosting Local Aquaculture

The Fisheries Department here in Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir encouraged us to produce feed for the trout fish, said a man in Kupwara. There was no feed mill here in this district. Earlier we used to go to Shopian, Baramulla and Srinagar and from there we used to procure fish feed. We had to pay Rs 3000-Rs 4000 for the vehicles. Sometimes the feed was available and other times it was not. So it was problematic for us. Now we have started our mini fish feed mill in Kupwara and we will supply to all trout fish farmers, said the Kupwara fish feed mill owner.
