JAMMU, DECEMBER 4: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, today carried out a comprehensive inspection of various industrial estates in Kathua. He was accompanied by senior officials from the Industries, Pollution Control Board, and Labour Department.
During the visit, the Deputy Chief Minister assessed the functioning of industrial units across the region. He emphasised the importance of adhering to established guidelines for the smooth operation of industries, with a focus on balancing human resource development and ecological sustainability. Choudhary highlighted the need for industrial units to prioritize employment for local skilled youth, stating that the industrial sector can serve as a major source of job creation for the region’s residents.
The Deputy Chief Minister also visited the SIDCO Complex in Kathua, where he interacted with officials to review the functioning of the complex. Additionally, he inspected the office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Kathua, to assess the working conditions and facilities provided to workers.
Later, a delegation from the All Jammu and Kashmir Jat Association, led by former Minister Manjit Singh, met with the Deputy Chief Minister. The delegation presented their issues and concerns, urging for speedy redressal. Choudhary assured them of prompt attention to their grievances and necessary actions to address their issues.
The inspection underscored the government’s commitment to improving industrial development while ensuring that local communities, particularly youth, benefit from the growing economic opportunities.
