At the Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts & Guides State Award Ceremony, J&K Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha said, the State Award Certificate will continue to inspire all of you for social service and nation building. I know that Bharat Scouts & Guides is a mission for all of you. In this mission ‘you’ come before ‘me’ and charity and goodness is what matters most. Your spirit of service and sacrifice cannot be appreciated enough, said the Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha. Describing its history, LG added that the Scouts and Guides movement managed to establish roots all over the world in 1907 under the leadership of Lord Robert Baden Powell. In India, Bharat Scouts and Guides movement started in 1909. Bharat Scouts and Guides is a platform of service and energy. It is a unique and wonderful platform where the new generation nurtures the values of harmony, brotherhood and humanity. And through that it succeeds in strengthening the path of peaceful social change. Bharat Scouts & Guides as an institution has completed seventy-five years of journey. Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts & Guides has inspired the youth to contribute immensely to the development of the society and the nation over the past few years through community service, integration plans, exchange programs and service and other outdoor activities. I am also happy that the family of Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts & Guides is continuously growing, LG said. The biggest specialty of youth power is that no matter what field it is in, it does not like status quo. The youth wants positive change. The youth does not want to follow the old paths, it wants to create new paths. The aspirations of youth are infinite and limitless. With its energy, the society is able to muster the courage to continuously make new discoveries. In an inscription of Kaliyuga, Emperor Ashoka had written that all human beings are my children and just as I want happiness and comfort of my own children in this world and the next world, so I desire the same for every human being, LG shared. Jammu and Kashmir is a youth center established state, LG stated. Efforts have been made by the policy makers in the last four-five years to enable the youth to participate equally in the administration and to play a better role in building the golden future of Jammu and Kashmir. This democratic evidence is the biggest strength of Jammu and Kashmir, LG pointed out. And the youth have proved through their achievements that they are the greatest asset of our future. Be it young artists, young scientists, young innovators, young sportspersons, everyone has worked with dedication and hard work in contributing to the development of ‘Naya Jammu and Kashmir’, said the Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha.
