J&K authorities do mapping of pregnant ladies, keep essential services running during snowfall

After heavy snowfall is predicted in the districts of Jammu and Kashmir, the district administration authorities take appropriate measures to keep the essential services running. Banihal receives heavy snowfall. Seeing the prediction, the district administration and sub-divisional administration in Banihal establish a control room. All the essential departments like health, PWD, etc are activated. These essential departments are then tasked with restoring services. After the weather clears up, the administration starts road clearance work. The road becomes slippery after snowfall. The authorities say the machinery is pressed to restore road services at the earliest. The administration under SDM Banihal closely monitors the situation. Baseer ul Haq, DC Pulwama says, the main intention after heavy snowfall is to avoid disruption of the main essential services. The administration authorities take a tour to get a feel of the condition and also to interact with people and to show them how services get restored to provide ease of living to the common man. Restoration of electricity and water is taken care of. The district administration Pulwama did a mapping of pregnant ladies and households in the month of November. Then according to the forecast we shift pregnant ladies to hospitals in advance so that their safety and care is provided for. Also to make sure that due to closure of roads no emergency situation should arise to cause distress to the residents.
