Jama Masjid’s Generations-Old Iftar Tradition Fosters Unity During Ramadan. Since 1998 we have been doing Iftar service, said a Muslim at Jama Masjid Delhi. This is our fourth generation involved in serving the community during Ramzan. Everyday we take care of around 200 – 215 travellers. There is no issue of religion in this, every person, whether Hindu or Muslim, Sikh or Christian sits down to eat Iftar. The initiative embodies the spirit of kindness and community, reflecting the mosque’s enduring legacy as a place of worship and unity. The Mughal Ruler Shah Jahan had built the Jama Masjid for his Namaz. It has a capacity of around 25000 people. This is the season of kindness. A man should become a collector of his good deeds. Future generations should also maintain this thing. This is such a blessed month, Allah gives double and triple of everything in this month, said a Muslim at Jama Masjid, Delhi.
