Is Kashmir Still SAFE for Tourists? What Indian & Foreign Tourists in J&K Are Experiencing After the Pahalgam shooting, tourists from Belgium, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and across India speak out — saying they feel safe, welcomed, and loved in Kashmir. In powerful voices, they share how Kashmiris protested the attack, stood united, and showed the world their spirit of brotherhood. Tourists urge everyone not to fear and to experience the real Kashmir for themselves. Are you feeling scared after the Pahalgam shooting incidents? A foreigner tourist visiting Hazratbal shrine in Kashmir was asked by the Kashmir Ahead team. No, I am not, was the reply straightforth by Steve from Belgium. I am going to stay. They are just scaring the people. I have a good message. Don’t listen to the news. They are only trying to control your mind. There is no problem here. People are very nice here. I have not met anyone who is not nice. Another traveller from Kolkata said he and his family were here since last Saturday and they have been roaming around Kashmir. They have visited each and every corner of Kashmir. I am very shocked to see the behaviour of Kashmiris from the very first day of our visit. Their behaviour and hospitality is just mind blowing. The way they behave with every tourist. We are shocked that how come such things occurred in Kashmir. On the day of the unfortunate incident and after that day, the way Kashmiris have protested. They came out on roads, chidren from schools protested, auto wals, cab drivers, shop keepers, women and the elderly everyone protested unitedly. This is the learning that we must take. In India, there should not be Hindus, Muslims we are all Indians. Please be Indian that is the message they tried to give each tourist. We have faith in the Indian Army. They must investigate why such an incident occurred? People must visit Kashmir. We did not feel even for one second about what will happen after the incident. The way the forces have sheltered us, protected us, after the incident we feel very happy. This is my first experience in Kashmir and it has been very nice. I have friends in Kashmir. I am from Hyderabad. Nobody puts a bomb in their own house, said the Hyderabadi lady visitor. We need to understand this. This is our second day of visit. Hopefully we will see more of Kashmir. We will miss Pahalgam’s areas that have been shut. Let us see how things go, she said. Every Kashmiri is upset, everyone’s heart is crying and their eyes are filled with tears, said a Muslim. We condemn this act. This is not a humane act. We have never been in support of this, said the Muslim man in Jammu & Kashmir.
