India’s changing consciousnes & reawakening of society with cultural & spiritiual values: J&K LG This important event in Kashmir shows the commitment of every Indian towards the crown jewel of India. It is our commitment and conviction that we will not let the pace of progress of Jammu and Kashmir slow down under any circumstancess, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, presiding at the 15th Bharat Ratna Awards event in J&K.The changes that have taken place here in the last five years under the leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi are certainly historic. The development journey of these five-six years has been completed by considering the upliftment and respect of the weak and deprived sections of society as the biggest objective of life, LG added. And efforts have been made to ensure that our youth, especially our women, and the underprivileged sections of the society move ahead on the path of development and empower the entire society. But the public knows that an attempt has been made to make the life of the common citizen easier by strengthening social justice and economic democracy here under the guidance of the Prime Minister. A lot of hard work has been done to make their dreams come true. Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar often used to say that just as man is mortal, ideas are also mortal. An idea needs promotion and propagation. Many of the award winners present in this auditorium today are from different fields. They have worked for courage, harmony, peace, service and nationalism and have propagated the ideas related to nation building in their own ways in their respective regions. They consider the world as a family. Our culture has always emphasized on ending all kinds of discrimination, LG stated. We have emphasised on such deeds which benefit the entire humanity. Lord Buddha inspires us to do what is right and just. Buddha’s message is very valuable.By doing good deeds, a person not only serves the society and the nation but also transforms himself. And I personally believe that all changes in the world begin with changes within ourselves, LG said. Today, for the first time in the country, there has been a change in both the consciousness and the system of the society. And people are feeling it too. Aspiring India is moving towards becoming a developed nation. Along with self-reliance, a new confidence has also been awakened in India. Even in the midst of global turmoil, India has kept its eyes set on the goal with great patience. The picture of India rising from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is clearly visible and along with it, the era of reawakening of cultural and spiritual values has also begun. I firmly believe that by combining tradition with modernity and unity with vivacity, our country can move forward on the path of a successful future for humanity, the Lieutenant Governor said. And today, there are many such personalities present here as Buddha Peace Award and Bhimrao Ambedkar Award winners, who are working by making social objectives the sole aim of their lives.
