Jammu, December10,2025:Amid continuous flight cancellations affecting travel to and from Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Railways has announced a three-day special Vande Bharat Express service on the Delhi–Udhampur route to accommodate stranded passengers and ease travel pressure.
The temporary service will operate for three consecutive days, offering an alternative for thousands of travellers whose plans were disrupted by severe flight delays and cancellations triggered by operational and weather-related issues in northern India.
Railway officials said the decision was taken after passenger volume surged at airports in Jammu and Srinagar, leaving many without timely travel options. The special Vande Bharat trains are expected to help stabilise movement along one of the region’s most crucial corridors during the disruption period.
The Delhi–Udhampur special service will run with limited halts, ensuring faster connectivity for passengers heading towards Jammu division. Officials have advised travellers to check real-time updates through the Railways’ official platforms to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
Passengers have welcomed the move, calling it a “much-needed relief” at a time when flight disruptions have caused significant travel uncertainty. The Railways is also monitoring the situation and is prepared to introduce additional services if necessary.
