Rajouri, January 28,2026- To provide much-needed healthcare services in remote and border areas, the Indian Army’s Counter Insurgency Force Romeo organised a free Mega Health and Medical Camp at Palma village in Rajouri district, particularly in the aftermath of recent bad weather that affected the region.
The medical camp was organised by the Palma-based Territorial Army Battalion in coordination with the civil administration. Doctors from the Indian Army and the local health department examined hundreds of patients, offering free medical check-ups, consultations, and medicines.
In addition to human healthcare, a veterinary aid centre was set up to treat livestock, which serves as a vital source of livelihood for many residents in the area. Veterinary officers provided treatment and guidance to ensure the health of animals owned by villagers.
Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for extending healthcare support in far-flung and underserved regions. They noted that such medical camps are extremely beneficial due to limited access to medical facilities and requested that similar camps be organised regularly for sustained healthcare assistance.
