Poonch, December 11, 2025: The Indian Army, in collaboration with a local NGO, has provided infrastructure support worth lakhs of rupees to four schools located beyond the India–Pakistan border fence in Poonch, aiming to strengthen education in remote border areas.
The initiative included renovation of classrooms, provision of furniture, teaching materials, and basic amenities, enabling students to study in a safer and more conducive environment. The schools serve children from remote villages who often face challenges accessing quality education due to geographical isolation.
Officials said the program reflects the Army’s commitment to nation-building and community development, focusing not only on security but also on social upliftment in border districts. Local villagers expressed gratitude, noting that the improvements would encourage higher school attendance and improve learning outcomes for children in these areas.
