Udhampur, September 7,2025: The Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out a critical airdrop mission in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir to provide relief to people affected by recent floods and landslides. Heavy rains in the region have triggered widespread damage, leaving several villages cut off and many residents stranded without essential supplies.
The IAF transport aircraft and helicopters were pressed into service to deliver food packets, drinking water, medicines, and other relief material to the affected areas. The operation was conducted in close coordination with the district administration, disaster management teams, and local authorities to ensure timely assistance to the people in distress.
Officials said the swift action by the IAF has brought much-needed relief to families marooned in remote locations. Rescue and relief efforts are continuing across Udhampur as the administration works to restore road connectivity and evacuate those in vulnerable areas.
The relentless rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir over the past few days has caused landslides, flash floods, and disruption of essential services. Authorities have urged people living in landslide-prone zones to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories.
The Indian Air Force has reiterated its commitment to provide full support to civil authorities in disaster relief and humanitarian operations.
