Gulmarg, December 27,2025: Hotels in the renowned tourist destination of Gulmarg are witnessing full occupancy as a large number of New Year revellers throng Kashmir to celebrate the festive season amid snowfall and picturesque winter landscapes.
Tourists from across the country have arrived in Gulmarg to welcome the New Year, drawn by snow-covered meadows, skiing activities, and the region’s festive atmosphere. Hoteliers said bookings surged well in advance, with most hotels, guest houses, and resorts reporting complete occupancy during the New Year period.
Local businesses, including transport operators, guides, pony owners, and shopkeepers, have also seen a significant boost, bringing cheer to the local economy. Tourism stakeholders described the rush as a positive sign for the winter tourism season after recent fresh snowfall enhanced Gulmarg’s appeal.
Officials from the Tourism Department said necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth movement, safety, and basic facilities for visitors. Security and traffic management measures have also been strengthened to handle the increased inflow of tourists.
