Holi celebrated with traditional fervour and enthusiasm across Jammu

Jammu, March 4,2026- The festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with traditional fervour and enthusiasm across Jammu on Tuesday, with people from all walks of life coming together to mark the joyous occasion.

Markets, residential colonies and temples across the winter capital witnessed vibrant scenes as people smeared each other with colours, exchanged sweets and extended festive greetings. The spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony was evident as families, friends and neighbours participated in the celebrations with great zeal.

Devotees thronged prominent temples in the city early in the morning to offer prayers and seek blessings. Cultural programmes and community gatherings were organised in several localities, adding to the festive mood. Children and youth were seen enjoying the celebrations with music, dance and traditional delicacies.

Security arrangements were put in place at key locations to ensure peaceful celebrations. Officials said the festival passed off smoothly, with no major untoward incidents reported from any part of the district.

Holi, symbolising the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring, is celebrated with immense joy in Jammu and across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The festival once again reinforced the message of unity, harmony and togetherness among the people.
