Heavy rush of devotees at Darshani Deori on day 8 of Chaitra Navratri in Katra

Katra, March 26,2026-A large number of devotees gathered at the Darshani Deori to begin their sacred pilgrimage to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple on the eighth day of Chaitra Navratri.

The भक्तों began arriving early in the morning, forming long queues at the entry point as they prepared for the uphill journey to the revered shrine. The atmosphere was filled with chants of “Jai Mata Di,” reflecting deep faith and devotion among pilgrims.

Authorities and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board have made elaborate arrangements to manage the heavy footfall, ensuring smooth darshan, security, and basic facilities for devotees undertaking the yatra.

Officials said the rush is expected to increase further as Navratri approaches its culmination, with pilgrims arriving from different parts of the country to seek blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi.

The annual Navratri pilgrimage holds immense religious significance, drawing lakhs of devotees every year and contributing significantly to spiritual tourism in the region.
