Harmonious Triumph | Ruabab Maestro Ishfaq Hamid of Baramulla Honoured with Rashtriya Bal Puraskar I belong to a musical family. I was fond of playing Rabab since childhood, says Ishfaq Hamid from Baramulla who received the PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award in the field of art and culture from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. I learnt this art from my father. When I was small, I used to listen to my father playing Rabab. A passion arose in my heart that I also wanted to play. My grandfather told my father that I hold the Rabab in my hand that I too want to play the instrument. Then my father taught me how to play Rabab. My first performance was in Pune in 2020 and I won the National Award, said Rabab player Ishfaq Hamid. From there, my Rabab performance journey began. I also participated in the main G20 programme in Delhi. It is a big thing for me and a matter of pride that I have received the Bal Puraskar. For this my parents will be proud of me and the whole state will be proud of me, said Ishfaq Hamid.
