DODA, DECEMBER 24: As part of the ongoing Good Governance Week 2024, the Power Development Department (PDD) organised an outreach and awareness program at the DC Office in Doda. The initiative aimed to strengthen community engagement by providing timely assistance and valuable information about government schemes, particularly the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh presided over the event, interacting with PDD officials and the public to highlight the significance of the scheme. Designed to make electricity more affordable, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana offers subsidies of up to 65%, enabling households to reduce their electricity bills by half. The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the transformative impact of this initiative, urging residents to take full advantage of the benefits to improve their quality of life.
As part of the program, citizens were provided with comprehensive guidance on how to enroll in the scheme. A dedicated help desk was set up to address queries, assist with the application process, and ensure seamless access to the scheme’s benefits.
The event also reflected the government’s broader commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions, equitable access to resources, and the promotion of energy conservation practices in the district. By raising awareness and encouraging participation, the PDD continues to play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of the community and supporting the vision of good governance through citizen-centric initiatives.
