Golden Card restoring health of J&K residents

For UT J&K, the AB-PMJAY Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana benefits have been extended. Sanaullah Sheikh of Budgam suffered health problems in 2019. He was taken to hospital and discovered he had heart problem and was advised angiography. Being a beneficiary of AB-PMJAY he could bear the cost of the treatment. Under SEHAT yojana, a financial medical cover of Rs 5 lakh was granted annually to him. A pacemaker needed to be inserted in his heart and he could avail the benefit through the Golden Card. It covers up to three days of pre-hospitalisation and 15 days of post-hospitalisation expenses. His son Tariq Ahmed Sheikh said, his father’s treatment cost was coming up to Rs three and-a-half lakh. With the help of the Golden Card, the treatment was done free of cost. With SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme, all the UT families will be covered at zero cost. He said this is a good scheme. Golden cardholders can avail free healthcare treatments in any PMJAY registered hospital across the country. Get your Golden Card, advised the son.
