Anantnag, January 26,2026-: For the first time, an organic fertilizer train from IFFCO arrived at Anantnag Railway Station on Republic Day 2026, marking a significant milestone for the region’s agriculture sector.
The arrival of the train is expected to enhance the availability of chemical-free, organic fertilizers for farmers in Jammu & Kashmir, promoting sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly farming practices. Officials said this initiative will provide timely access to fertilizers, supporting crop productivity, soil health, and overall agricultural growth in the region.
The IFFCO train initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to encourage organic farming, farmer welfare, and self-reliance in the agricultural supply chain. By improving logistics and distribution, the move is expected to strengthen the farming ecosystem in Anantnag and surrounding districts, benefiting small and marginal farmers in particular.
With increased fertilizer accessibility and timely delivery, the program aims to contribute to sustainable rural development and economic prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.
