Kashmir Ahead

Film shoot of ‘Pashaan’ underway in Rajwar, Handwara

Handwara, March 6,2026- A film crew is currently shooting scenes for the upcoming project Pashaan in Nagranar village of Rajwar in North Kashmir’s Handwara, once again bringing the spotlight back to Kashmir’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture.

Over the past few years, film productions have increasingly returned to the Valley, drawn by its scenic beauty, snow-capped mountains, lush meadows, and the warm hospitality of local communities. The shooting of Pashaan in the Rajwar area has generated excitement among residents and is being seen as another positive step in reviving Kashmir’s film tourism.

Local youth have found employment opportunities during the filming process, assisting the production crew with logistics, equipment handling, and other support activities. In addition, artisans, shopkeepers, and small businesses in the area are benefiting from the presence of the film crew, as they provide services, food supplies, and locally crafted products.

Residents say that such film projects not only support livelihoods but also showcase the Valley’s timeless charm and cultural richness to audiences across the country and beyond. Each shoot helps strengthen Kashmir’s image as a safe and attractive destination for filmmakers and tourists alike.

With more productions choosing the region for filming, locals believe the trend reflects a changing narrative and renewed confidence in Kashmir’s potential as a hub for cinema, tourism, and creative industries—symbolising the spirit of “Naya Kashmir, Badalta Kashmir.”
