A one day ‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme’ was organised by the Government Degree College for Women in Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir on May 6, 2023. The aim was to make the students aware of the various options available to them after obtaining degrees other than being a government employee. The students were informed on how they could start entrepreneurship and their own startups. They were also apprised about the startup policy which is helpful to the youth. Entrepreneurship has brought lots of changes in our society, said students. Entrepreneurship challenges existed in J&K like lack of awareness, mindset, skill gaps, lack of finances, high rates of interest, lack of coordination within various departments, lack of proper support / guidance. The awareness programme cleared the doubts existing in young minds. Women have a lot of creativity in them. In every household, a mother stabilises her house with her ideas of growth, voiced students. Patience is required in entrepreneurship which women possess in plenty. There are various entrepreneurship schemes of the government. Women can set up their own businesses and take it to the next level and moreover, women can set their life with these entrepreneurial schemes of the government, degree students were informed.
