Divya Kala Mela is becoming the best platform to present the skills, generosity and unprecedented abilities of disabled brothers and sisters to the world, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha. We all know that under the leadership of our PM Narendra Modi, a feeling has arisen in the entire country that being disabled does not mean any kind of weakness. Rather, disabled people have that ability which makes them unique and special, LG said. Under the leadership of Honourable Modi ji, a new social consciousness was born in this society. And instead of a welfare oriented policy, the country’s Parliament made a new law in 2015 to give rights to disabled brothers and sisters. Since 2015, many programs are continuously running in this country to provide strength to the disabled brothers and sisters. In this series, the first Divya Kala was organised on Kartavya Path in New Delhi in 2022. Friends, I believe that inclusion is the most important basis for the overall development of the society. Till now, 2000 participants from 23 cities have not only secured their personal progress but they have also inspired others in the society. The Government of India has disbursed more than Rs 13 crore ninety lakh loans to encourage business of disabled entrepreneurs through these fairs. So that they can scale up the business and expand marketing and branding. This Divya Mela reflects the commitment of PM Narendra Modi ji to make the disabled people economically empowered and self-reliant. In Jammu also I got the opportunity to see the mela with the minister. Around 75 stalls were set up in which apart from Divyang people, stalls of Government of India organisations and Civil Society Groups were also included. In this fair, I am sure the goods of disabled brothers and sisters and entrepreneurs of Jammu and Kashmir will be sold in large quantities. Jammu and Kashmir administration has made many assistive devices available for disabled people. In remote areas, be it wheelchair, motorised scooter, it is continuously made available. And the Minister has assured that you will get even better facilities in future also, LG Manoj Sinha added.
