Srinagar, January 22,2026-Ahead of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, conducted a comprehensive inspection of Bakshi Stadium, the main venue for the national event, to review arrangements and ensure final preparedness.
During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner assessed key arrangements including the podium setup, sound systems, seating arrangements, sanitation facilities, and other logistical requirements. He directed all concerned officers to ensure top-notch preparedness and stressed the need for glitch-free functioning of sound systems, being managed by the Information Department, Police and R&B, keeping in view the importance of the national समारोह.
Taking note of the prevailing inclement weather conditions, the Div Com instructed for the installation of waterproof canopies over the spectator stands. He also directed the concerned agencies to keep adequate manpower and machinery on standby for snow clearance, if required, to ensure uninterrupted conduct of the event.
The Chief Engineers of KPDCL, MED, R&B and PHE briefed the Divisional Commissioner on the progress and preparedness of their respective departments. He also inspected the video walls installed around the stadium to ensure clear and unobstructed visibility of the programme for all participants and attendees.
The Divisional Commissioner further reiterated instructions regarding timely distribution of refreshments, proper sanitation of bathrooms and green rooms, strict adherence to the National Flag unfurling protocol, and compliance with the prescribed timelines for cultural programmes.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner extended an open invitation to the general public to participate in and celebrate the National Festival of Republic Day at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Commissioner SMC, SSP Srinagar, SSP Security, and other senior officers from civil and security departments.
