Jammu, December 27,2025: The Divisional Commissioner Jammu attended “Dastaan-e-Mic”, a landmark open mic event organised by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, aimed at providing a vibrant platform for young talent in the fields of sports, literature, and performing arts.
Addressing the gathering, the Divisional Commissioner exhorted the youth to channel their energies into constructive pursuits such as sports, literary activities, and performing arts to lead a healthy, positive, and disciplined life, free from social evils. He emphasised that such platforms not only nurture creativity but also help in building confidence, character, and social responsibility among young people.
The Divisional Commissioner also highlighted the importance of promoting local art and culture, stating that youth engagement in creative and cultural activities plays a vital role in preserving heritage while fostering harmony and inclusiveness in society.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young performers who showcased poetry, storytelling, music, and other art forms, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of the region. Officials from the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports said initiatives like “Dastaan-e-Mic” are part of ongoing efforts to encourage youth participation in positive and meaningful activities.
