Jammu, January 15,2026:The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organised a two-day workshop titled “Holistic Wellness: The Science of Breath, Mind & Meditation” at the DIPR Auditorium, Jammu, aimed at promoting mental and physical well-being among its officers and officials.
The workshop was attended by Director Information Nitish Rajora; Joint Director (Headquarters) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Joint Director, Jammu Division, Deepak Dubey; along with officers and staff from the DIPR headquarters and divisional office, Jammu.
The sessions were conducted by renowned dietitian, yoga teacher and chakra meditation expert Dr. Mitali Gupta, who combined scientific understanding with ancient yogic wisdom. Her experiential teaching approach made the sessions practical, engaging and transformative for participants.
A special highlight of the workshop was a live practical demonstration by Dev, an underprivileged student trained by Dr. Mitali Gupta. His confident and disciplined presentation was widely appreciated and served as a powerful example of how yoga and meditation can empower individuals and contribute to inclusive growth.
During the two-day programme, participants gained valuable insights into the interconnection between the body, breath and mind, along with practical techniques for achieving mental calmness and inner balance. The sessions explained how physical health, breathing patterns and mental state are deeply linked, and how conscious breath regulation can reduce stress, balance emotions and enhance overall well-being.
The foundational sessions focused on developing inner awareness, self-regulation and holistic healing. On the concluding day, specialised sessions on meditation, chakra meditation and power nap techniques were conducted. Participants were introduced to simple meditation practices to improve focus and awareness, while chakra meditation emphasised balancing the body’s energy centres to promote emotional stability, inner harmony and mental clarity. Power nap techniques were also shared to enable deep relaxation and rejuvenation within a short span of time.
The workshop concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being, conscious living and compassionate education in building a healthier and more balanced society.
Speaking on the concluding day, Joint Director (Hqr) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina appreciated the initiative, stating that the workshop significantly contributed to strengthening coordination between mental and physical well-being. He described the sessions as highly informative and expressed hope that participants would incorporate yoga and meditation practices into their daily lives. He also noted that yoga and meditation have been adopted globally for overall well-being and healthy living.
Earlier, during the inaugural session, Joint Director, Jammu Division, Deepak Dubey welcomed the participants and highlighted the positive role of yoga and meditation in developing a strong body and mind, and in promoting a disciplined way of life.
