Kashmir, March 7, 2026-In a significant push toward digital empowerment and inclusive governance, nearly 3.82 lakh citizens across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh accessed essential services through the Common Service Centre (CSC) network in February 2026, highlighting the growing role of digital platforms in delivering government and financial services to remote communities.
According to official data, a total of 3,82,330 service transactions were successfully delivered through 7,411 CSC Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) operating across the region. These digital facilitators are playing a vital role in bridging the gap between citizens and government services, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Key Digital Service Achievements
The CSC network recorded strong activity across multiple categories of services during the month:
- 38,974 Aadhaar-related services delivered to citizens
- 2,19,829 DigiPay transactions enabling digital financial inclusion
- 3,216 insurance services provided to beneficiaries
- 16,368 Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services processed
- 97,443 e-services accessed by residents
- 6,500 banking services facilitated through CSC centres
These numbers demonstrate the rapid adoption of digital governance platforms in the Union Territories and the increasing reliance of citizens on CSCs for essential services.
CSC Network Strengthening Rural Digital Access
The Common Service Centre ecosystem has emerged as one of the most important pillars of Digital India implementation in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Through locally operated centres, CSC VLEs provide a wide range of services including Aadhaar enrolment, banking support, insurance assistance, and online government services.
For residents living in remote mountainous regions, CSCs serve as accessible digital gateways, eliminating the need to travel long distances to government offices or banks.
Officials say the steady rise in digital transactions reflects both improved internet connectivity and increasing digital literacy among citizens.
Empowering Citizens Through Technology
Digital platforms like DigiPay are also playing a major role in expanding financial inclusion, allowing citizens to conduct secure transactions, withdraw funds, and access banking services locally.
Similarly, the delivery of G2C services and e-services through CSCs ensures that government schemes, certificates, and documentation processes become faster, more transparent, and easily accessible.
The involvement of Village Level Entrepreneurs further strengthens local economies by creating employment opportunities while enabling communities to benefit from digital infrastructure.
A Step Forward for Digital Governance
The February 2026 achievements underline the growing success of digital service delivery in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. With thousands of CSC centres operating across urban and rural areas, the region is steadily moving toward greater digital inclusion, efficient governance, and citizen-centric services.
As digital adoption continues to expand, the CSC network is expected to play an even larger role in connecting people with essential services and ensuring that no citizen is left behind in the digital transformation journey.
